| The Studio Shandon Photography is conveniently located in downtown Los Angeles, near where the 10 and 110 freeways meet. The studio’s high ceilings and three walls of large loft-style windows provide beautiful, diffused natural light—the foundation for some amazing photographs. Yet the studio is fully equipped with studio lighting alternatives and blackout capabilities. Perched on the ninth floor, the studio offers beautiful views of Los Angeles. The large floor plan supplies ample creative space to move about or build temporary sets. And while we could easily shoot an entire session in the comfort of the studio, a headshot session or fashion shoot will often take us to other parts of the 1920’s building. The roof, garage, stairwells, and hallways provide an edgy urban backdrop that will infuse a shoot with energy, context and variety. We spend a lot of time at the studio, so we’ve worked hard to create a comfortable workspace to make us all feel at home. Satellite radio feed provides a nearly unlimited variety of commercial free music and the fridge is always stocked with cold drinks. There’s a variety of studio sets to give photos a wide range of context. Other studio comforts include a make-up station, restrooms, changing room with clothing racks, and an iron with ironing board. We have a waiting room supplied with recent magazines and video games and there is secure parking just across the street. About Us Back in 1999, we started with humble beginnings—a one man company operating out of a one car garage. As we’ve grown professionally, we’ve realized the importance of assembling a diverse staff of specialists not only to make the studio’s workflow more efficient, but also to make your photo session more effective. We strive to offer our assistance and expertise at every point of your headshot experience. We offer styling consultations and personal shopping assistance prior to your shoot—makeup and light hair styling the day of your shoot—retouching and prepress services to further develop and process your photos before printing and posting to the web. In addition to our creative staff, our office staff is available to help with scheduling, to answer any questions you have along the way, and to process and post your proofs to our custom proofing website. In 1999, Shandon Youngclaus began his career shooting actors, models and musicians in the backstreets and alleys of North Hollywood. With an eye for style and a talent for pulling out the hidden truth in his subjects, Shandon quickly became the top choice for many of Hollywood’s busiest talent agencies, managers and casting directors. Today Shandon shoots six days a week in his downtown natural light studio, occasionally traveling around the world to complete a variety of assignments for boutique companies as well as major networks. Having shot thousands of working models and actors, he is widely considered one of LA’s premier headshot photographers. |
